How Ezi Rail works
Plan. Enter where you're going. Ezi Rail compares routes and fares — including combinations of tickets ("split tickets") that can legally cover the same journey for less.
See it clearly. Your journey appears as one vertical view: every line, every stop, every change — with platforms, live times and a "you are here" guide on the day.
Buy from a trusted retailer. Ezi Rail doesn't sell tickets or take payments. When you're ready, we hand you to an established rail retailer to complete your purchase. Ezi Rail may earn a commission from the retailer — it never changes the price you pay.
Split tickets, honestly explained
Split ticketing means buying two or more tickets that together cover one journey — it's permitted under the National Rail Conditions of Travel provided the train calls at the stations where your tickets meet. Ezi Rail only proposes valid combinations, and always shows you:
- each ticket in the combination and its price;
- the conditions attached to each ticket (e.g. Advance tickets are only valid on the specific booked train; route restrictions apply);
- whether the train must call at the split station (it always will in combinations we propose);
- the total you pay and the saving versus the standard through fare at the time of search.
Please read each ticket's conditions before you buy — tickets are sold by the retailer under their terms and the relevant operator's conditions, and refunds/changes are handled by the retailer you purchase from.
Privacy policy
Effective date: to be set at app release. This policy covers the Ezi Rail mobile app and this website.
The short version: Ezi Rail is built to know as little about you as possible.
- No account. Ezi Rail does not require registration, and we do not collect your name, email address or payment details. We never see payment information — purchases are completed with the retailer, under the retailer's own privacy policy.
- Location (optional). If you grant location permission, it is used solely on your device to suggest nearby stations and show live journey progress. You can decline or revoke it at any time in your device settings; the app works fully without it.
- Journey searches. Searches are sent to rail-data services to return times and fares. They are not linked to your identity by us.
- Saved journeys, railcards and preferences are stored on your device.
- Notifications (optional). Used only for the alerts you enable, such as disruption or service updates for your saved journeys.
- Analytics. If enabled, we use privacy-respecting, aggregated crash and usage analytics to keep the app working well; no advertising identifiers, no sale of data, no cross-app tracking.
- Affiliate links. When you continue to a retailer, the link identifies that the visit came from Ezi Rail so we can be paid a commission. It does not carry your personal data.
- Your rights. Under UK GDPR you may contact us about any personal data matter at the address below.
